Ok how many Birds like Coconut ?

Both of mine do .
Buy at store
1 whole Coconut
Grapes
Banana's
apple and any of these you don't have in your back yard LOL
I grow Banana's and grapes my apples get eaten by the deer so ?

First i drain the juice by using a Nail and a Hammer to Punch holes .
you can actually use a Screw driver thats electric but Mark really gets pissed at me .
i use new nail 6 inches long and Wash them GOOD.

ok then drain juice in cup if you like to drink it or Its also great for boiling bird veggies in .and rice.

Now cute coconut in Half .
You can either place this on the floor or Mark made me a wire Hanger that pokes threw one of the holes in the coco nut. to hang . it has 2 lug nuts on the bottom and a screw he had to make the Notches.
I add the veggies and fruit to the inside and after the birds are done with what they want i clean out the rest and make the nut into a bird seed feeder for the wild birds More then not they use it as a toy and let me know when its empty by greeting me at the door chirping along .
Its really really cute .
you can also use the empty shell for your Parrots as toys .
Now all birds love coconut even the Smallest wild finch.
Ill go looking for the disk with the photo of the wild finch that made a nest out of one .

I really hate to waste anything Tammy

Nice idea. Thanks for sharing. I am making an assortment of toys out of things I see Rosie likes. It is so much fun too. I do this in the evening with her watching and playing at the same time. There is so much we can do to enrich their lives.

Parrot book? OK now lets find a good publisher. Or better yet when you are finished we can place it here on the forum for members to download. What a wonderful idea. I made up a binder when I first got Rosie Alexandra and have used it for reference. Nice MM (Mishka's Mom)

Im interested in the Parrot Book too.
Baby took a turn for the worse.
I just couldn't see him suffer anymore as he laid on the bottom on his side.
we let Figaro say Good by with us .
That seemed to help a little.
I posted in the rainbow bridge.
I just couldn't come on i had to be tough and stick to Figaro who is really Morning .
she is asking where her bird is .
Baby and Figaro would do that when we separated them.
I told her he was with Bob and Partner our sheltie.
today we made snacker Cracker cookie crackers together and she refused to eat any of them.
she has not touched babies toys. not wants to play.
But i have her on my shoulder now we are looking at photos of birds .
except the double yellow head amazon.
we will be watching a movie tonight and eat dinner and meals together as her veggies fruit and nut mix has not been touched.
IM worried....

I use the shell as a toy but hadn't thought of filling it with other goodies - great idea.

I found if you put the coconut in the oven on medium for about 20-30mins the shell will split just enough to open it easily - often the flesh is still in tact so you don't lose the juice but place it in an oven-proof dish just incase there is spillage.
