I found a local organic food store and while visiting I talked to the ladies there about my concerns for healthy, organic food for my baby.
They had tons of stuff and one of the women said that she had heard red palm oil is good for them. She said she had another parrot owner that swore by it. Promoting better physical health and appearance.
Anyone give their birds this? If so how much should I give to a catalina macaw?

I have used it with my own birds. This is the recommended guidelines that I've come across, although I'm not sure how often. I usually use it sparingly myself.

1/8 teaspoon up to 250g, 1/4 tsp up to 500g, ¼ to ½ tsp up to 1000g

Or.... mix 1 tbs with 1 lb of bird food.

My grey loves it chilled. This way he eats it right off the spoon. I try to give a little bit every day.

Thanks for the info! I was reading around and a lot of people were feeding 1/4 tsp a day. That seems like a lot to me, but generally that's what is fed. I think I will do 1/4 every 2 days and see how it goes.
Did any of you notice better skin, feet, or feathers after using this?

Presently have six Greenwing Macaw (17 yo), Red Fronted Macaw (12 yo), Red Lored Amazon (17 y.o.), Lilac Crowned Amazon (about 43 y.o.) and a Congo African Grey (11 y.o.)
Panama Amazon (1 Y.O.)
This is especially good with big macs and Hys... it's part of their wild diet.
