I love it:) I'll definitely try this with my lot. My conures are being pains about pellets at the moment (I think they conspire together to drive me nuts...)so anything with lots of healthy diverse ingredients will be tried:)

i too dry veggies and fruits for my gcc.
make as many different as possible with my dehydrator and mix it and stuff into jars.
Nice way for them to eat healthy and without concern for leaving it in too long.
I do use it just for snacking.
But great job!

Wow this looks amazing! I definitely want to try this! Do you know how long it lasts once it's dried?

Thank you :)

Because I don't use any preservatives, I don't want to keep it indefinately. I make it once a month, store in a dark, cool & dry place (in a tightly closing container in my pantry cupboard) and by the time I have to make more, everything is still crispy and perfect.

I'm going to try this! Thanks for sharing. One question, how long is over night? How many hours in the oven?

That depends on the thickness of the mixture in the tray. This particular batch took about 6 hours at 90 degrees celcius to get dry and crisp. If possible, I would suggest you put it in the oven before bed and check on it first thing in the morning. Remember, you don't want it "chewy" because that would mean it is not dry yet and that can lead to spoilage. I do like to take out a bit of it while it is still chewy just for percy to nibble on that day (discard what is not eaten that day).

Of course, if you have a food dehydrator, that would work very well too.

Good luck.

Finally got around to making this for Kiwi. Used a little different veggies in mine, but this is a fantastic recipe idea! A great addition to sprinkle on Kiwi's breakfast.

Oh that's a GREAT idea...and I have a dehydrator, so that makes it even easier. I'm going to have to try this!

I made something like this too in my dehydrator with rice flour, greens and carrots, hot peppers, chia and flax. I keep it in a sealed baggie in the fridge to make it last longer.
