my gcc have been on Harrison for about a half year, but they are now refusing to eat it.
Now i do have to say ,that i am kind off glad,it was really expensive.
Next year i am going to live on my own
and wouldn't be able to pay for it,now i don't have to take away something they liked.
But now i have to find a other pellet.
before harrison's they were on the zupreem fruit blend, which they really liked but i heard they could get kidney failure from it .
What about the natural?
the other i can get is dutch bird food.
they are other brands here but are only sold for bigger birds, pellets are still not so regular under bird owners here, especially the little ones.
the dutch bird food does look promising,it is organic.
What do you think?

Did this happen suddenly when you started a fresh batch of pellets?? Unusual for them to stop eating something unless offered something new or there's an issue with quality of feed. Check the date on bag? Try a different batch of the same pellet?

I usually change pellet brands/formula often with my birds. harrisons is good stuff but it has a short shelf life ( being organic/natural, etc). When feeding these type of pellets i buy the freshest and smaller quantities. Zupreem fruit blend is the other end of the spectrum from Harrisons. Try tasting the pellets yourself. I do. Zupreem fruit blend is a very "sweet" pellet compared to harrisons (like eating dry grass) . Of course they'll pick the ZFB ,it's like candy to them. Change and mix pellets often. Variety is best IMO.

I'm not a conure owner, never have. I do keep amazons which are similar.

maybe try a small bag from a different batch. To suddenly stop eating a certain pellet is a "red flag" in my thinking. If there's is something "wrong" with those pellets, i wouldn't keep feeding them. Can you find "sample " bags?

i live in a remotely small village and have to drive 1,5 hours to get to a decent pet shop that sells pellets.
So i can only buy from webshops,it is really difficult to find good food for conure's.
in small pet shops they only sell junk food for conures and in the bigger they focus on the bigger parrots.
I am giving them seeds till i have new pellets, but i think i am going with the dutch bird food,it is still completely organic and it is half the price of Harrison's.
It is something i can give them still when i am on my own.

Zupreem natural is still better than the fruit blend. If they'll eat it, go with that. Have you tried Roudybush pellets yet?

I do think it's strange that they're rejecting Harrisons out of the blue. It couldn't hurt to take them to the vet for a check up. Sudden changes in eating habits could be a sign of illness. It's worth checking out, imo.

Can you get TOPS in the Netherlands? It's process makes it supposedly superior nutrition (cold pressed and green) organic, AND it's surprisingly low priced here considering.

If I were you, expressing the cost factor next year, how about trying the organic Dutch brand?

we did have Tops for only a few months available ,but they did not stop eating it out of the blue ,they began eating less of it for about 4 weeks or so,and when i give them my mothers zupreem fruit blend and their seeds they gobble it up.
also i haven't found the roudybush here yet, like i said the options are very small here.
