I'm looking for opinions on what you guys think is the best pellet for a parrotlet. I've heard Harrison's and Roudybush both make good pellets so I've been looking at them.

The problem is that Roudybush are going to be difficult to get here in the UK without them costing me an arm and a leg. I could probably get Harrison's without a problem. Which type of Harrison's pellet would you recommend for a celestial?

Does anyone know of a reliable supplier of the above pellets here in the UK?

My parrotlets eat Roudybush crumbles, but I am sure that Harrison's would be awesome for them as well. Hopefully someone who uses Harrison's can give you some advice on which one would be best:)

Harrison's has a "Super Fine" size. It's really tiny pieces. Perfect for my Budgies. The Parrotlet I think would like that size too.

Or the "Fine" should work too. That's actually pretty small pieces also. I've used "fine" size for all bird sizes from Budgies up to a bird 550 grams.

They recommend starting out for first 6 months on High Potency formula, then maintenance formula after. Also depends on the species specifics. Ask your avian vet about which formula is best for Parrotlets.

Personally I find that Harrison's Fine is better than the Superfine pellet. Both my parrotlet and Senegal eat them with ease.

Roudybush is by far the highest quality for the lowest price. I've been feeding my macaw and parrotlets roudybush for over a year.

I've found that the best price is from Victoria Birds. Their website is found on
Victoria Birds

They sell for a fraction of the cost from Amazon. I emailed them about my order and received the food by the end of the week!

That's just my input. You can go on the Roudybush website and they'll explain all the vitamins, minerals and supplements that help the overall wellness of your bird.

I think Harrison's is superior in quality and nutrients to Roudybush. Proof in blood work over two decades. Although I do use Roudybush at times these days also.

Can you get TOP's in the UK? Like Harrison's, it's organic, and it's process is very natural (cold-pressed, not extruded or baked) and leaves much of the nutrients in tact. No added vitamins. It's surprisingly inexpensive. Costs about the same as Roudybush.
