I went to the store and produce was doing quick sales on veggies, 99 cents a bag. I grabbed the bag below and found out what the light yellow ones were and the red ones that look like tomatoes, oh and the little green ones. Scotch Bonnet peppers, caribe peppers, and cherry red peppers. There is also ginger, and red bell pepper. Does anyone feed their parrot any of these? I love adding variety for Buddy and haven't seen info on these.

My birds will eat all of those except for the ginger. never fed that before an i have it growing wild in the yard. I do use it for people food, often, but never fed it to the birds. BTW my chickens/turkeys don't mess with it, that's usually a sign birds don't like it. PS watch out for birdie kisses after those scotch bonnet peppers, they'll leave blisters on your lips,LOL

Hah, yeah. Scotch bonnets are wicked hot.

My birds love every variety of pepper I've ever given them.

I couldn't pass up the 99 cent deal. I've been making a habit of going to this particular store on Mondays because they mark their produce down and it's always good stuff! I've picked up snap peas, snow peas, kale, fruits, bell peppers, even stuffed mushroom (for me), this was the first time I saw peppers like this bagged up. I picked this bag because of the red bell pepper and it had lots of peppers, a little ginger. Buddy loves peppers, I've never had the scotch, caribe or cherry reds, I keep jalapeño and habanero around to make salsa but I thought I'd give these peppers a whirl with Buddy. I love visiting stores and farmer markets looking for Buddy foods. I picked up a Santa Fe Parrot treat bag which has almonds, pasta, pumpkin seed, dried sweet potato, dried chili peppers, a mix of big items, not a lot of seed. He likes it, goes for the pepper first, then the sweet potato, nice variety.

Now if I could feed him the scotch peppers and get him to kiss husband, that would be great payback for the time he kissed me after eating habanero peppers. My lips were burnt off my face, lol!

LOL! I had to ask husband, he said we have Serrano peppers because habaneros are too hot for me. I do wear gloves when cutting peppers. He's getting another good laugh off of me. He speaks Spanish fluently, I don't. Earlier I asked him what "el vino de mono morado" meant, wine purple monkey. I just walked off, he was laughing, jokes on me again, lol.

My mouth is burning for you. I love spicey stuff. Even put a couple roasted habaneros in my chili, but there's no way I could just eat a habanero.

Pablanos too? I've only had those cooked. I found a poblano in the bag too. As for kissing, no, nope, no way! I told husband not to breath on me either. He wants me to make salsa with them, I told him I didn't have goggles or a container that wouldn't melt from them. Husband eats hot stuff and peppers all the time, I say he has no stomach, he destroyed it. His family will make salsa and if it's too hot for them, they save it for Husband, lol!

I haven't fed bell peppers to Buddy dry, always fresh. He loves peppers, red, orange, yellow, and green bell peppers, sweet peppers, and jalapeños. I think he likes the juice he gets from them.
