The *best* food prep tool EVER! Every parrot owner should own one!

As I continue on my journey of a raw food diet (almost a month now!), I decided to buy a "spiralizer" for making "pasta dishes". While useful for me, I have NEVER seen Kiwi get so excitable about zucchini and yellow squash before! He thought he got a bunch of noodles Given most parrots can't get enough pasta, it's a lovely way to trick your feathered darling into eating more veg! Just thought I would share because it's quick, easy and works really well and would probably be a great addition to many parrot owners kitchens

P.S. Blend up some fruit or veg to put over the "pasta" as sauce, and get even more veg into your bird In fact, even if you have NO interest for your own eating, look up the raw vegan diet recipes on youtube, and there are so many healthy ideas for your birds! And so many ways you would never think of to present their fruits and veg (for picky eaters) that resemble junk food, but are in fact super nutritious! Kiwi has been enjoying my raw diet because of the many way's I'm preparing fruits and veg. It's a refreshing change in attitude not to see him eat his fresh stuff so begrudgingly and with such attitude whilst giving the evil eye...

I agree a must for every kitchen, I love zucchini pasta with fresh homemade raw marinara sauce!

I bet you'll get a ton of use out of it, and if it's the one in the video (the one I got too), it worked really well. I never knew such a device existed, but I think it's awesome and anything that gets Kiwi more interested in veggies is a worthy investment to me Let me know how you like it!

I HAVE to get one! I think Zilla and I would both love it.

I'm sure for the veggies she wants steamed I could just pop them into the steamer on top of my rice cooker like I do all the other veggies I like to steam. So still avoid the "boiling" I hate.

I'm on a mission to find one now, since I have seen other ones that are smaller and don't look like they would hold up to much daily use.

I've seen the little handheld ones too, and they looked like a waste of money to me. That's why I looked for a bigger one. They make REALLY big ones too, but they are very expensive. I thought the one I got was a reasonable size, price and quality enough to hold up.

Amanda- If you're interested in trying it for yourself, a great raw sauce I've found (NOT bird friendly, just good for us people) is 1 avocado, 2 roma tomatoes, 1 red or orange bell pepper, 1/2 onion (less if you aren't a huge onion person), splash of apple cider vinegar and s&p to taste. DELICIOUS over raw zucchini noodles!
