Naked Juice

Hi all! I'm trying to find a way of sneaking vegetables into my conure. So far all of my homemade smoothie recipes have been met with a turned up beak

I bought the "Kale Blazer" Naked Juice at the grocery store the other day. I don't see any ingredients that could be harmful. Any one else offer this to their bird?

Here are the ingredients:
Orange Juice
Kale puree
Apple Juice
Cucumber juice
Spinach juice
Celery puree
Ginger juice
Lemon juice
Natural flavor

I just researched this for me [Im sad ]. It looks fantastic but the apple juice makes it have lots of sugar. Not as great as it looks [look it up ].

Sounds like great stuff. I give my fids juices all the time, but we have freshly squeezed in our store, and I try to use those.

Thanks! I don't know of any stores by me that sell fresh squeezed juice. It's hard enough to find organic where I live!

Most green juices such as Naked or Odwalla contains way more sugar than beneficial nutrients. Whole foods usually contains pressed juices that don't have any added sugar, but they're pretty pricey. You can try making your own juice with a blender. Also you can try making a bird bread and throw some veggies into it

While I'm probably less worried about one item's sweetness, I'd probably be more interested in whether there are any of the individual ingredients that the bird would refuse on their own merits...and I speak from experience, when I was growing up, before I was old enough to go to school, I was served some burned green beans at a relative's house (she was elderly & served most everything overcooked)...I left them on my plate, my father got very upset & I was told that I would sit at the table until I finished my plate...I fell asleep at the table & was left there overnight...I still do not eat green beans, but enjoy snow peas!

Just because we humans think something is good, we don't always know best, but as an accepted flock member, we might invite our feathered friends to the table & eat the things we want our charges to eat.....

I used to chop food I was forced to eat into tiny pieces and swallow it whole. Back on topic I think my fid ate some of his last chop. I cut it really tiny.
