Abba soak seed
Picked up what I thought was a good sead mix for sprouting.
Ingredients: Thistle seed, Rape Seed, Canary grass Seed, Wheat, Buckwheat, , Millet Seed, Safflower Seed, red milo, yellow milo, Non-Viable Hemp Seed, Mung Beans, Lettuce, Seed, Cracked Corn, Salt, Potassium Iodide, Ferrous Sulfate, Zinc Oxide, Manganous Oxide, Ferrous Carbonate, Mineral Oil, Iron Oxide, Copper Oxide, Calcium Periodate, Cobalt Carbonate, Calcium Propionate.

Now since it is geared toward seed eaters, directions say, soak 6 hours, sprout 18 hours,"Do not over sprout". At the 18 hour point, the seeds were just splitting and very tiny sprouts(1/32 ish)
But for my Gcc, I don't believe that is my objective! I am shooting for much more matured sprouts, right?
Or, did I screw up- again?

Most sprouts are the most nutritious when they just sprout root tails. As they get older they lose their potency, as the energy is being used towards growing a plant. When they first sprout root tails they are at the most anabolic stage of the life cycle.. Also, when left to sprout too long they have more potential to mold/mildew.
Since the sprout mix you're using has a lot of extra ingredients it will probably get moldy faster, hence the warning to not "over sprout". Anything "enriched" generally gets nasty when left wet too long.
I've had the best results using only the seed/grains, water, and mold inhibitor. (I use citric acid (not GSE)). Added ingredients usually make the mix go bad,nor taste weird. Follow their instructions and see how it turns out. Just rinse really well before serving to get all that other stuff off.
p.s. Cracked corn doesn't sprout, it just softens then goes bad.
