I buy my seeds and pellets in bulk. Does anyone know the shelf life of these? Also if disaster happened and fresh or frozen veggies were not available what canned goods could my kids eat. I know low sodium. Can they eat instant potatoes

This is not a daily diet thing. This is if there is no other food availablee due to a disaster or food shortage.

For those wondering I do feel it is prudent to have 3 months of food at all times. I'm not there yet but im working on it. It's not a religion thing it's I don't know how to explain it. I just see things getting worse all the time. I don't want anyone going hungry if I lose my job.

My brother has a plan for himself and his dog in a worst case scenario.

It's just called being prepared for whatever life throws at you so that hopefully it never DOES.

Just stalk up on a 3 month supply of the dried pellets, they come in a sealed bag, i would think they last months.
Of course i would get your bird on them first ahead of time, and not just have them.

RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
I too buy my food in bulk and don't keep it any longer than 3 months maximum. The trigger to make the trek to a feed store is roughly 2 weeks supply - and that doesn't include an emergency stash in a van equipped for evacuation. (that's about 1 week)

I'm not paranoid, but don't want the added angst of providing for my pets in case of natural disaster, etc.
