Tachyons eating this latest batch so heartily, im almost tempted to try it myself!

This batch was: blanched broccoli stems, raw carrot, an apple, half a red capsicum, half a cup of roudybush pellets, 1/4c nuts/ linseed, all smashed up in the food processor and baked (on baking paper for easy removal!) with sesame seeds on top at about 175'C for around an hour (or longer, until it springs back when touched and stops looking 'wet'). Let cool, lift out of pan and congratulate yourself on being clever enough to use baking paper (no clean up!), cut into 24 bits or so and wiggle the knife between each piece to make a 1-2mm gap, slide a cookie sheet or similar underneath and pop in the freezer for a few hours/until frozen. Toss pieces into zip lock bags and keep in the freezer, I never remember to take out a piece in the mornings to thaw, so I do use the microwave but only 7 seconds then break the bread into bits, another 5-7 seconds and then I let it sit a little in case it got too hot (I really dont want him to burn his tongue!) and squish a little on the back of my hand to make sure its only luke-luke-warm and safe to give him.

The last batch was whole green peas (shell and all), raw carrot, cooked beetroot, cooked kumara, linseed, berries, cashew pieces.

The batch before that was blanched broccoli, thawed berries, raw grated carrot, ground linseed, almond pieces, smashed roudybush pellets, a few raisins.

Im not perfect when it comes to bird nutrition but I feel this kind of "bread" is better for him then adding porridge oats, flour, or god forbid - boxed mix??? (as he would be unlikely to come across those kinds of things in the wild!). I normally make a batch with what ever vegetables and fruits we happened to get that week at the market; always trying to make it different and exciting!

Do you have any fruit or vege combinations for birdie bread that your birds seem to love?
