My neighbor brought over a couple of bags of David salt & roasted sunflower seeds. I know sunflower seeds are ok for birds but salted & roasted?

I think no. The salt is no good.
Not sure if rinsing would help enough or not.
Hope you like sunflower seeds.:D

Definitely not ok for birds if they are salted. And even though birds 'can' eat sunflower seeds, they are most certainly not the healthiest of all food choices as they are high in fat content.

I second that as well.

Avoid the salt....it will irritate the skins and fathers where they'll itch like crazy and dries their skin out.

They make unsalted sunflower seeds. Roasted is ok, Unsalted however, but raw unsalted is best.

Just enjoy them for yourself!
But even for your own treat, I would boil, I eat the shell! A little soy sauce and put in the broiler for a few, very few, minutes. My bird store carries the unsalted raw and they are the small size.

You eat the shell David? That's like eating little wood chips lol, just teasing.
I don't trust them in the shell ever since I found a worm laying next to the seed in one once! A little extra organic protein... no thatnks.

I agree MysteryGirl, just eat them yourself or give them away. The salt they soak them in is pretty hard to get rid of I'd think.

Yep, shell and all, have done the 'bug survivalist' thing a few times--so--
Also, after having my butt replaced, I am always on a pursuit for the fiber!
