I sprouted my first batch.
Got the sproutamo easy sprouter and a bag of soak and sprout (think it was volkmans?) from my safe bird store... Followed instructions and got my first bath day before yesterday.
So fed a small amount to each birdy yesterday... My lovie didn't go for it immediately but did eat a good amount by the end of the day. My gcc also are them eventually and this am went straight for that part of his dish... And of course my trash can bird.. I mean amazon... Ate them immediately. She doesn't leave anything in her dish. Ever. It either gets thrown or eaten. Mostly eaten.

So how often should I include these in their diet? It has a huge assortment of seeds including flax etc. they get chop daily and some roudybush pellets as well but I think their chop is the majority of their diet. They also get nutriberries as a treat but I found a recipe for them using my own ingredients and pellets which I plan to make and include daily.

Well, I can give you the amounts I usually give. Foo eats maybe 1/2 tbls in a day. We do them more often at the end of months because I have less fresh foods around. I don't make big batchs of chop to freeze, we do them daily since we eat a lot of fresh foods ourselves. (otherwise similar to you since we also use roudybush and nutriberries, but very little of Foo's diet is pellets overal) We use them often sometimes, and then we may go several weeks without making any.

Different sprouts are loved more by different folks here. Tiny anythings are loved by the starling. Foo loves any of the more spicey sprouts. Bean and legumes are mostly only loved by the humans and rats. Clover is liked by all.

Congrats on your first batch of sprouts! I would offer as much as your birds will eat. Sprouts are one of the most nutritious foods any (omnivorous or herbivorous) animal can consume! The nutrients in them are most bio-available. While the information on this site is geared towards human, much of it is also applicable to birds:

Hmmm interesting reading.
Just hard for me to see so much nutrient in essentially a soaked seed!
