Hi I am interested in feeding my RB2 Wheatberries, cooked and mixed into a bulk batch of chop. I was wondering if anyone can tell me if they are OK - I think the thing that concerns me is the iron content. This is human nutrional info provided below. Any info gratefully received.

Wheat berry nutritional information:

According to CalorieCount, one serving of wheat berries is 1/4 cup dry and contains 160 calories, with a total fat count of less than one gram of fat (0.5 grams). In addition, wheat berries provide 34.1 grams of carbohydrates, 174 mg of potassium, 6.4 grams of dietary fiber and 6.4 grams of protein. As well as potassium and dietary fiber, wheat berries are also an excellent source of iron, providing 9% of the total recommended daily intake.

They are fine, I include them in sprouting. Keep in mind the humans serving size that percent is based on. Your bird is not going to be eating nearly as much as you would.

Hi and thanks - for some reason that fact that they have highish levels of iron was ringing bells. I can rest easy and feed Plum them now.
