Gloria, BFA, adopted on Jan. 9, 2016 when she was 30 years old
. Her mom went to a nursing home.
Also have 2 cats (Rangerand Luna) and a 24 year old aquatic turtle, named Elvis.
Getting ready to make some vegan breakfast muffins and they actually look like something Gloria :green: might enjoy too. They have cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger. I know people use cinnamon a lot but I hadn't heard of anyone using the other spices. What about vanilla extract in baked goods?

The other ingredients are:
banana
sweet potato puree
dates
vanilla extract
oat flour
baking soda
baking powder
blueberries.

I wouldn't worry about any of that being bad for her. I would feed it to Zilla. Not as a whole meal, but as a treat, or a taste of what "Mommy" is eating it should be fine.

Yummy, I think Gloria will love it and I agree with the others, should be perfectly safe!

Blueberry Oat Breakfast Muffins (by Juieanna Hever – The Plant-based Dietitian)

1 medium banana
2 cups sweet potato puree (2 medium to large sweet potatoes, baked or 1 15oz can of sweet potato puree)
8 medjool dates
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups whole oat flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375.
In a large bowl, combine your oat flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger and set aside.
In a blender, blend the banana, sweet potato puree, dates, and vanilla extract.
Add this into the flour mixture while gently mixing together until completely combined. TIP: avoid over-mixing to prevent toughness in the final product.
Fold in blueberries
Spoon the batter into muffin cups and bake for 20 minutes or until the muffins are lightly browned.

So the above muffins turned out well. I made them for me--adding some extra blueberries. I kept about a cup of batter out and added flax seeds and pumpkin seeds and made mini muffins with that for Gloria. She seems to like them--particularly if I give it to her from my plate. I give her half a mini muffin as a serving.
