Anyone ever try Goldenfeast Bean Supreme?

I found a bird supplies store in the big city which has just about everything in the way of food, entire walls full of food.

We talked about how fussy Nike is and she suggested this Bean supreme. Nike is so different from my OWA who would empty is bowl in minutes no matter what you fed him. She seems to pick at it and really enjoys the broth.

I'm just curious if anyone has ever used it.

At this store the 23oz bag was about $8.

Thanks
Bill

Bill, I haven't tried that particular mix from Goldenfeast, but I can honestly tell you that all the mixes my flock ever got from Goldenfeast (and there were LOTS of them) NEVER disappointed. :)

I would recommend you cook the Bean Supreme and offer it warm. I bet Nike will LOVE it.

I use GF Bean Supreme as a switch up food when Dexter seems to get picky and bored with his regular cooked, evening mix (which is Goldenfeast Caribbean Bounty). I do a quick "cook" by steeping in hot water for a few minutes before draining, rinsing and serving. I've been very pleased with the Goldenfeast foods. I use the GF Nutmeats and Fruit mixed in equal parts with Golden'obles as a dry supplementary dish that stays in the cage at all times.

I quick cook it per the directions which is add to boiling water and remove from heat, cover and let cool. I haven't drained it and Nike seems to have some interest in the broth.

I fed it this morning and she didn't touch it. I heated some more and fed at noon and she spent 5 minutes at her dish which is a long time for her to be eating. Didn't look like she ate much though but she must have being there so long.

Good to know that other folks use it, thanks.

I used to leave the broth in, but one evening we were sitting down to dinner and the steeping food/water was definitely still too hot to serve. Dexter gets his dinner when the whole "flock" eats, so I drained it and rinsed to cool it down a bit. He gobbled it up like never before, so I figured he just likes it better with a bit less broth and now I drain/rinse.

You can also add a small drizzle of coconut oil to entice Nike to give it another taste.

I use a coconut oil that is solid in the container ([ame="http://www.amazon.com/Carrington-Farms-Organic-Virgin-Coconut/dp/B00CPZPYLS/ref=sr_1_4_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1460250408&sr=8-4&keywords=coconut+oil"]http://www.amazon.com/Carrington-Farms-Organic-Virgin-Coconut/dp/B00CPZPYLS/ref=sr_1_4_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1460250408&sr=8-4&keywords=coconut+oil[/ame]) which warm very slightly to just above room temperture, changing it to liquid, before I add to food. I use a very small amount, less than a teaspoon, and mix it in. I use it very infrequently, but from what I understand it's OK to use consistently.
