I have not found a definite answer anywhere, but can the birds eat the banana peel? I have found places say not to give them fruit rind, but I am not sure if the banana peel is under the same category.

I was eating a banana with Aria, and instead of trying to eat the fruit, she kept trying to eat the peel. If it is okay for her to eat, I will let her go at it, but I wouldn't let her gnaw on it since I am not sure if it is okay for her.

I am glad someone else is asking this question. My cockatiels when out flying always go for the bananas if they are not covered and nibble the peal.
I don't know if it's good or bad but so far I have seen no ill effects from this(other than a P!ssed off wife).
