According to what I read . It's ok. I would not keep any longer than I had to . I keep my birds seeds in the Freezer because he does not eat that many. I also put Nuts on the Freezer.

The biggest problem faced with freezing is opening and closing the package to take-out some this week and some more next week. It is much better to place what you would use in a week and place each in its own frozen food bag. Mark each bag with what it is, the date packed and a use by date. You are over buying if you purchasing pushes past 6 months. Everything is affected by freezer burn to one degree or another, so do not over buy.

Yes, you can push beyond 6 months, some say a year or more. But, the quality / flavor will begin falling off as you pass 6 months.
