I got a bag of oat groats, to add to Salty's chop when a given batch turns out too watery. Not cooked. I added about 1/2 teaspoon to 2 heaping tablespoons of chop. It absorbed the water well. But I cant find much about serving these to birds. So... uncooked OK? Cooked OK too or it doesn't matter? Or only cooked?
As a point of reference, Salty seems to like them un-cooked, as a treat, when he is in a patient mood, because he removes the hull .
