I have a five tray ghetto set up for fodder, and was wondering if there are any safe kinds to try?

May help to define or provide a picture of what is a five tray ghetto set up.
It has five trays to add soil to, where you are able to grow plants inside of it, I am assuming grain and other edible plants would be perfect for this set up, though much like sprouts they are not able to grow fully.

The fodder might be a bit more widely known in the rabbit, guinea pig, rodent world...

Unfortunately I don't know how to put pictures up on here.

I hope this helps a bit for explaining it :)

To add pictures you press go advanced next to post reply, then when there press manage attatchments on the bottom and then upload file or paste URL of picture.

As far as what youre talking about, are you asking if its safe to use a shallow tray system to sprout grains and things?

I'm asking what's safe to grow in it for parrots to eat.

Let's take rye berries for example harvest roots and all should come out looking like a door mat.

Cement mixing trays go in on the other side, with proper drainage, from there you are able to grow in the tubs with proper lighting...

Worked well for other plants, top adds ventilation that can be covered should plants need higher humidity.

There are several items that I believe could be grown it this type of growing unit. Check the list of safe seeds and foods and try growing the different items based on the plant height and the size of the unit.

Hey, go for it! Keep us Posted!

I say go for it as well, I have no experience with this and it seems like you can teach us all something new if this works well.

I can teach ya'll things if I fail too, provided proper measures are taken with note keeping and trials.
