Zupreem veggie blend? Good enough?

Sponsored Links
I've had Romeo for about 6 weeks now. Even he came to me he saw basically on a diet of human junk food.

In that time I've been working on a healthier diet and he's taken to many fruits, some veggies, a bit of chop and is doing better.

The problem is he's been reluctant to take pellets. Roudybush he won't even put in his mouth. Harrisons he may taste a bit but mostly just throws on the floor.

So as a last resort, because he's losing to much weight, I got some Zupreem veggie blend and he's eating it without issue.

So, is that good enough or should it just be a stopgap while I try to get him to take a better pellet?

Re: Zupreem veggie blend? Good enough?

I had a similar problem. I also tried feeding Harrisons and Roudybush, none of my birds would touch it. I finally softened Zupreem natural pellets in water and apple juice and all of my birds liked that. Most of my birds' diet is fresh or cooked vegetables, fruits and cooked grains. I give them cooked chicken, salmon or eggs a couple times a week with thier chop. They all get a small amount of Mayan Harvest seed mix daily too. I think Zupreem is fine as long as that isn't the main part of thier diet.

As said by one of this forum's greats, the best pellets are the ones they eat!

The provided diet should be an ever changing and better stated ever improving thing. As time passes and our knowledge of what they will eat, or better stated gains their interest, we should continue to adjust their diet.

Its never good enough, only where we are today.

Thanks sailboat. I think I knew that answer. I'm. Constantly trying new foods first to see what he will eat, then to see what he might eat and then to just keep food interesting.

He's a complicated bird compared to the conure who will try anything I give him.
