What do you use to wash your fruits / vegetables with before feeding to your parrots?

I soak produce in 1 part apple cider vinegar to 2 parts bottled water for around 20mins, and then wash and rinse thoroughly with more bottled water. (We have very hard water here.)

It's my understanding that the apple cider vinegar removes pesticides and chemicals from the surface of the produce.

I have always used Dawn detergent, but I like Diva's answer better!

I just use a huge bowl / tub, fill it with 2 parts water, 1 part white vinegar. Soak the fruits/veggies for 5-15 minutes. Rince 3-4 times. Allow to drip dry for 15 minutes, wipe, then store in refrigerator. It removes so much of the wax, chemicals and debris. I can literally see the yucky sheen on the water surface.
