I have some - I use it when I run low on chop and to add variety to what they get. I’ve also added it to my defrosted chop to soak up some of the extra moisture and it works pretty well for that tool.

Is this another option? Just thought I'd throw it out there to see if it's edible for birds. It contains added vitamins and minerals though, so maybe not?

This certainly has my attention. A quick google search shows freeze dried chop retains most of its nutrients where dehydrated food - which we all know is the norm - loses a lot of the water soluble vitamins (vitamin a, c, niacin to name a few).

Please keep us updated?

I've got to try something new to get Nike to eat some Veggies.

Wow I just saw this..thanx Bill :D I WAS going to go out and get some stuff to make a small amount of chop today. It seems like Amy and BB are getting tired of birdie muffins  So I ordered a quart sized bag, should be here in a couple days :D

So far, I've had it for a couple of days, Nike isn't eating anything I bought. I bought the chop, sweet potato fries, and two other treats and she's not going for any of it.

I thought for sure she would go for the sweet potato fries but no.

I'm heading out on a business trip but when I get back I'm going to try spritzing the chop with a little fruit juice...once I find some juice she likes...she is so fussy.

Not giving up on it yet.

Bill have you tried just warming up the fries a tad? I know Amy prefers her food "warm"..and you're right! FUSSY! I keep telling Amy parrots in other parts of the world would kill for what you're throwing away! That doesn't seem to help though :(

So the fries are very hard, almost like a pellet, she likes the shape of regular fries so I thought that she would just chomp on these as she has eaten steamed sweet potato in the past. I Hydrated one but found it on the floor. I may try hydrating the chop with water or maybe drizzling a little red palm oil on it today.

I'm still waiting on my chop. The woman is on google messanger and I had a very nice chat with her :) She is a one-person business! Does every aspect from picking out the ingrediences to making the stuff to packaging and shipping! Says she distributers in Canada and Australia! and a couple pet food places in the USA carry her products. She said she didn't expect so many orders..over 100 bags she has to produce lol. She said shipments USUALLY go out in one or two days but its been so busy mine wont go out until Monday and I ought to get it by Thursday or Friday.

I told her if the kids eat/enjoy it,she'll have a repeat customer ;)
