Converting my red lored amazon to pellets

Hello Everyone,

I have recently adopted a Red Lored Amazon who is in her 20's and she has always been on a seed diet so I am trying to convert her to Harrisons pellets and was wondering what the best way to convert her diet is.

She hates anything new and has anger problems when I try and feed her new stuff lol

but I still love her, She doesn't eat much fruit or veg either.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

You could try mixing in the pellets, fruits or vegetables into the seeds. That's how I got Cookie to try new food.

Welcome, and thanks for converting your red lored to a far healthier diet!

I converted an entire flock of varied species to Harrison's using their protocol. Worked very well: https://www.harrisonsbirdfoods.com/using-our-foods/large-bird-conversion/

Fresh vegetables and fruits are highly recommended as well. The link in preceding post an excellent guide! It takes trial and error and lots of patience to prompt a hesitant bird.
