WE got Kira our CAG a few weeks ago and she was on a all seed diet . She would not eat pellets ,fruit except grapes and no veggies . I kept cooking and kept offering . She eats the zu preem natural pellets now and has them in one of her dishes another dish has a little seed mix from Katee that I got her .This morning she finally start eating her Crazy corn mix . Been reading about foraging so that will be our next step once I get her to actually start looking for food . She has a peanut in a chinese finger trap well she hasn't found it yet <smile > The finger trap toy I made her was destroyed in hours so going to make one again and hide some goodies. Anyone feeding dehydrated fruits/veggies ? Those would be awesome to use as a foraging item. She adores my husband so when they hang out watching TV I introduce different foods hubby acts like he is eating what ever I offer and Kira tries it . :grey:

Awesome progress! Have you tried freeze dried fruit and veggie chunks? I’ve tried them with my birds and they went over pretty well for foraging. They are pretty tasty - I’ve also tasted them :). They don’t have the added sugar that dried fruits sometimes have.

Pellets can also be used as a foraging item once she shows some real interest in them. My bird is on a pellet based diet that is supplemented with a fresh vegetable chop. She gets her chop in a bowl but her pellets she only gets from various foraging toys. I have a variety of toys ranging in difficulty from very easy to fairly difficult. You might start with a foraging activity that would allow her to see the food as this generally sparks interest in acquiring the food. Best of luck!
