Has anyone tried giving it to their parrots ? Any luck? And what's the dosage?

The same benefits humans can get from it. There is a lot of articles about giving it to parrots on the internet. Apparently, some avian vets sell it. I was just curious if anyone on the forums had any real experience with it.

The formation of a CBD packet sold is totally unregulated from what ingredients and their percentages used, batch to batch. Nor, what percentage is active and what is filler. And, just to build-up your confidence in what you are providing your Parrot, the processing equipment /facility is not licensed as Human Grade.

There are a few Vets that are testing CBD for use with Animals. To my understanding, none of the studies are completed. What information is available is comments by pet owner(s) (antidotal).

CBD sellers are happy to provide their product as defined above as it is more profitable for them. IMHO, I'm not willing to provide such a product to my Amazon.

What specific benefit are you hoping to provide your parrot?

Also I’m with Sailboat on this one. Too risky.

I’m not really thinking to give it to my birds. They are perfectly happy. I was just curious about it. Thanks for the information above.

B&G Macaw, Galah, 5 cockatiels, 50 billion and a half budgies. We breed and do rescue. Too many to list each individual's name and age etc, but they are each individuals and loved dearly.
We are semi sorta maybe considering trying giving it to Hima to fight inflammation in her joints and offer some pain relief, but have not done so yet. My husband and I have been taking it to help us get to sleep, and it certainly seems to help with that. Many people locally have been using it for arthritis and etc. They seem to think it works quite well, and I have a friend who used to give it to his senior arthritic dog for whom it seemed to work wonders. As Boats points out tho, there is really no hard data yet and it is all speculative. I'd be less hesitent about offering it to Hima if we could grow the plant ourselves and offer it to her dried or try to extract the cbd ourselves from it. My hesitation is, well, it is the same plant as weed! It is just a different variety of the plant that produces minimal THC(the stuff that makes you intoxicated) and maximal CBD. I don't want to have cops after me over an arthritis medicine for a bird lmao!

I think CBD could indeed be helpful for some issues of people and birds.
But....
It would be difficult if not impossible to know how much you gave to your bird or yourself with each dose.

Not ready for prime time IMHO.
