Percy, a 5yo BFA & Jack, a 8yo Budgie
Five months ago when I got Percy, he didn't touch any wood toys. The only things he would shred or chew, were paper or cardboard.
Anyway, I kept trying with small pieces of wood (washing pegs, popsicle sticks, small 1.5cm square blocks) and apparently, the foot toy I made before dinner, had just the right touch :)
He shredded a piece of wood, 4cm x 1cm (3 holes drilled through, two beads attached on either side of each hole). And he did this within FIVE minutes of receiving the toy. I could be upset that he destroyed my handywork so quickly but I'm not. My boy chews wood at last! Hopefully, he will wear that leathally sharp beak down a bit, now;)

This was all that was left over of said toy.

Yeah, go ahead and laugh, you heartless parronts! ;)
He's already started destroying his new, bigger foot toy basket which I attached to his play gym last night. I thought I was doing him a favour by putting up a bigger basket that can hold more stuff but he thinks it makes for delicious nibbling. I think I've created a monster! LOL!
Which one of the members here said to me :"be careful what you wish for"? :)
