Seagrass mats

Just wanted to let you all know that seagrass mats are THE BOMB in this house now.
Mysafebirdstore.com sells them...and they are the nicest people. There's always an extra toy in my box from them and a nice note.
I stick sunflower seeds and raisins in them, and fold them in half so that they're like a basket. THen you can put other paper toys inside.
Does anyone else have any good suggestions for treats to hid in them? My two love sunflower seeds but I also use them for training so I don't want them to get fat :D . Fruits and veggies would be kind of a mess in the mats.
Jade is very busy now with foraging and it makes me so happy to see him challenged. It wears him out!

Chili LOVES her seagrass mat- I usually tie the two ends together to make a tunnel with yucca chips and other chewables tied to the inside, then stuff the tunnel with paper- she loves pulling the paper out and finding things to shred :)

Dominic likes to pull shredded paper. We just shred all our junk mail and I use it to stuff all sorts of things, from the rummaging basket to various milk bottles and cardboard tubes (always with treats hidden inside). Dommie spends ages pulling the shred out piece by piece and dropping it helpfully on the floor for me.

His other passion is turning everything he can get his beak on into confetti. I can hardly keep up with him (he's already gone through all the cast-off Christmas boxes). I gave him my last cardboard cracker box this morning and he's working away at it vigorously.

LOL! It just occurred to me: maybe that's the reason Dom bites me? He's trying to turn me into confetti! He caught me a beauty the other day. I had reached him down from the top of his cage and was about to place him on the table. He overbalanced a bit and caught hold of the front of my shirt with his beak. Before I knew it, he had slunk straight up to my face and was swinging off the bottom of my cheek by his bill, which was planted securely in my skin. OWCH! As a reflex, I pushed him away with my hand and so he transferred his bill to the edge of my palm and twisted it in that charming way only he knows. MEGAOWCH! I'm afraid I'm only human: I shook my hand and Dom landed on the floor. From there, he came galloping toward my bare feet with wings outstretched, crest raised and beak wide open! Holy hurtfest, Batman! I just managed to stick my hand in from of Dom before he reached my naked, vulnerable feet. Like a good boy, he stepped up, I scratched his head, he ground his beak and we were friends again. The blood left little round spots all over the floor. I cleaned those after I had put Dommie back in his cage.

I think this is going to be our relationship forever. Dom is fine sometimes and will allow me to snuggle him and scratch his head. He's found out I can help with those annoying pin feathers on his head and will bow his head toward me as if asking me to rub them for him. Next minute, with not the slightest warning, he'll have dug his bill deep into my flesh and begun twisting as if to gouge a hunk out of me! I can usually read his body language and know when to leave him alone. But not always. I have scars and bruises all up my arms (and now, one on my face) to show the times when I failed. Sigh. And Dom just adores the men in the family. Neither one has ever been bitten by him. Sigh.
