so ive been trying to come up with ideas to get Marley working/puzzling to get his fruit. I put some straws through the chains on a toy. I pushed the straws through the grapes and it works wonders :)

Great idea! Glad you're coming up with some creative options to keep Marley busy:) After all, a busy bird is a happy bird!

Awww, he looks like he's having a blast! My birds have a strange affinity for straws as well (but like yours, never eat them). I'll have to try this, thanks for the share!

That's a great idea. Henpecked posted an idea of bottle caps in a bowl and putting treats in the bottle caps so I've been saving up bottle caps. Tonight though, Venus was dragging around my empty water bottle, she was fascinated, I don't know what was so spectacular about it but you go girl, lol.

Marley wanted that ball! Lololol, classic amazon move. Get a HUGE toy, run off with it and sit there while puzzling how to climb the cage with it until their human helps them out;)

Dang! Didn't quite think this one all the way through... What do I do now...

And if you try to help, they think you're coming to take their toy, and defend it, even though you're the one who just gave it to him...

bark, growl, run away... that's mine!

LOL!!!! I bought some similar balls for my crew. Marley is showing a lot more interest in them than my bunch. Love the video. That is one happy and spoiled bird. I'm glad you took him in.

Milo does not do foraging toys. A tad jelly that yours does.

He basically looks at it (no matter how hungry he is), and gives me a look that says, I'm not doing that, peasant. Fill my food bowl.

He is a very domestic creature, that Milo. Demands food be delivered to his mouth directly, if not in his food bowl. Requires twice-weekly spa treatments, and prefers preening to petting and snuggling. The petting, if it occurs, must be graceful, light movements. Scratches make him look messy. He doesn't like that.

Oh, and if we do not acknowledge the grace of his presence, the screeches will be emitted. And if the screeches are not heeded, he will encircle the room with his graceful, screaming flight to remind us...as if we could ever forget that he exists.

When we open his cage, we like to joke, "RELEASE THE KRAKEN!"

Needless to say, Milo fails to understand what he must think is some strange fad, this "foraging thing" as he would call it. The wild force is weak in this one.

As long as the toy is in his beak, Kiwi accepts the ride up:) He has to hold on to it though, no matter how large/heavy it may be for a creature of his size:rolleyes: He doesn't realize I often prop it with my other hand so he doesn't get a neck injury:09: (Can you tell, this is a VERY common behavior around here...)

My zons lean back and growl at the sight of my hand, and then turn away... and they figure out a way to do it themselves.

Now, if they drop it, I can pick them up and put them where they want to go, and give it back to them...

But if they have it... "You're trying to trick me and take my stuff."

Sounds so familiar. Haha birds are so smart/calculating (most of the time). In the exceptional times,I will admit, my genius parrot has had his share of stupid moments. But hey. Who doesn't. I stand in solidarity with Milo in his occasional stupidity.
