Also, to address your original question about the safety of the lava rock. They are commonly given to birds as a chew type toy for beak conditioning. I don't think your ekkie should really be able to eat it, since it is a rock and they aren't big chewers generally. However, I would personally take it away from her if you notice she is getting pieces off of it, because I don't think it is a digestible material and could cause an impaction if she is trying to actually ingest it.

Yes agree with OutlawedSpirit just keep an eye on her and ensure she isnt eating it. Destroying it OK, eating not.

Looks like a Gorilla with a beak LOL
