Coconut hut concerns

Okay so I've been looking at some new toys and stuff for a budgie and was wondering if these coconut cove things are safe for them I saw some things ab the rope not being good if they chew on it and if anyone has it do you like it??

Coconut toys are safe but I always avoid any kind of hut because of how frequently they contribute to hormonal issues.

Coconut toys are safe but I always avoid any kind of hut because of how frequently they contribute to hormonal issues.

What kind of hormonal issues what if I only have 1 bird?

Huts mimic nests. Nesting cavities stimulate nesting hormones. In my experience this is usually WORSE in single bird homes.

Here is my article on hormone control. There is obviously more to it than huts but those are a major contributor to hormonal issues like egg binding, biting, screaming, and plucking.

3 little busy Budgies
yea my lovebird nests like crazy in her coconut. I take it away from time to time but I always cave and let her have it back. She makes the cutest sounds while in there. I hardly ever see her come out of it! She has laid eggs in it in the past.

Rio (Yellow sided conure) sadly no longer with us
I had one of those for my conure. the one I had was too small for him so he couldn't fully get in (his butt stuck out) so he got bored with it pretty quick. He liked attacking the ladder though so I separated it from the coconut and made it its own toy
