Cardi Bird- Yellow Crowned Amazon
I just got Cardi a whole box full of toys from a woman who surrendered her bird. How would y’all clean them? The bird wasn’t sick but I just want to make sure.

Assuming these toys are wood, plastic, metal or some combination thereof...

You can immerse them in boiling water for 10 minutes, and allow to dry in a sunny spot, and then clean them as necessary by wiping them down with vinegar.

When they become especially dirty, we wash our perches, toys etc in hot water with a small amount of Dawn dish-soap (the kind that has no dyes, fragrances, etc).

That should suffice. I'll caution that keeping things "too clean" around your birds (and living things with robust, working immune systems, in general) just coddles the part of their physiology that would insulate and deal with germs in natural course.

a little bit of bleach water 10 water 1 bleach is fine too, not fancy "color-safe" 200 chemicals added bleach, should kill all the evil and bleach is naturally biodegradable it just turns into saltwater.
