This weekend I went to a small, free to the public, pet fair (dogs and cats) where we were allowed to bring our dogs. My friend and I thought we’d bring the pups and check it out.

One booth was for a bird rescue. They had some fleece toys that they were asking for a donation for $3 for the smaller one and $4 for the larger one. They’re pretty big too. I got Raven and Griffin these. Not bad for $7 total!

I went to a bird fair a couple weekends ago looking for toys and one of the vendors I know personally had fleece swings made the same way. I got a couple and gave one to Gus, our CAG. It lasted like 3 days in his cage before he had half of the fleece pieces untied and on the bottom of the cage. [emoji48]

Sunny a female B&G macaw;
Japie (m) & Appie (f), both are congo african grey;
All are rescues- had to leave their previous homes for 'reasons', are still in contact with them :)
Are these parrot-approved?

Because they do the same thing overhere and they look like fun, but I was afraid the fleece would harm them (being an utterly artificial material).
They are mostly marketed as rat-toys here (there are sooo many people with petrats compared to the indoor parrot-keepers)

I thought about the same thing, but I’m watching them closely to make sure. So far they don’t even seem interested. I’ve never tried fleece toys, but they’re very popular here, and I’ve never heard of them being a problem or danger.
