Best sized perch?

I'm finishing up my preparations to bring Maui (WBC) home but I'm getting stuck on deciding on appropriately sized perches. I have a good roosting perch (2.5 cm diameter), some sisal rope perches, a manu mineral perch, and a flat corner shelf.

Unfortunately I am having a hard time finding a perch to span his cage. I found this one that will fit, but I'm worried that it might be too large: https://www.petshopdirect.com.au/shop/item/natural-wood-perch-thick-60cm
This shop also has a massively long perch I could cut down that's ~3cm diameter - would this be a better size for a caique?

I'm also going to be getting some java wood perches from another shop. The shop owner suggested the medium size would be good (2-3cm diameter). But I'm wondering if the smaller size would also be suitable (1-2cm diameter) to give his feet some variety?

I'm planning to switch around the perches sometimes when I need to clean them or just for some variety when I rotate his toys; I don't want his feet to get locked up because he's gripping the same way all the time!

Thank you all!

oh also if you are near a tree....look that tree up to see if it's safe with parrots, cut a limb off long enough, put it in the oven at like 200F for say 10 minutes (to kill any Bactria, mites or tiny insects) and turn that into a perch.

At the top of the Amazon Forum you will find highlighted in light blue a Thread Titled: I Love Amazons - ... This huge Thread is filled with near 30 segments that provides tons of information for living with Amazons and just about any Parrot. One of the segments talks directly to selecting perch sizes and provides photos of why perch size is so important.
As stated above, it is important to have various sizes available!
Enjoy!

Thanks so much for pointing this out, literally didn't know such a valuable thread was on here!

Reading your writing about perches alleviated my concerns about ‘too wide’ diameter perches, and I went ahead and got the thick perch to span the cage. Next up I’ll get a medium and small sized java perch, and another thick perch so I can switch everything up occasionally. I want my bird to have happy feet!
