Homemade parakeet toys

Hi I was wandering if anyone had any homemade parakeet toy ideas?

I made this for my GCC but it would work for a parakeet as well. I put bits of food and balsa wood in the straws so she can forage for them.

Here’s the one I made today in honor of Halloween, LOL!



And yes, I did cut the straws myself. I used a tool called a whacky whirly.

You can use an old-school pencil sharpener but it doesn’t work quite as well.

I made this toilet paper roll toy for my parakeet and I want to hang it in his cage. Does anyone have ideas on what I can use to hang it that would be safe?
