Cypress (teal) and Citrine (green) - male american budgies, 7 months.
I realized my budgies have a slight dearth of foraging toys that they actually enjoy, so I just bought some cool stuff from hoot n holler.
Just from looking at the pictures of her toys, I thought her mahogany pods were probably some sort of sliced wood.

Now that I have them in my hand, they are so much softer than I expected.
I'm glad.
My budgies LOVE shredding soft bark so they are probably going to LOVE these (as soon as they get comfortable enough to approach the thing).

But I'm curious what they actually are/how they are made?
My initial google inquiry for mahogany pods just gives me "great bird toys!" :D

Umbrella Cockatoo- 15? years old..I think?
I think (don't quote me) that they are the fruit or seed of certain types of mahogany trees.
