Mojo the magnificent Maximillian Pionus; Cecil the clowny Senegal; and, Timothy the shy, fearful Parrotlet
I have for a while now thought myself to be inadequate for the needs of Timothy, my Parrotlet. And, I have, after much discussion between myself, Dan, Lindsey (Minz) and Chase, decided to rehome Timothy to Minz and Chase.

After losing my P'let Sailor, I have not bounced back and cannot seem to make the bond or progression with Timothy that he is deserving of. And, that is not fair to him. Lindsey and Chase are (total understatement) wonderfully loving, competent parronts and I trust them wholeheartedly with Timothy and his care and welbeing.

While I am sad, I am more overwhelmingly happy for Lindsey and Chase. I have rehomed/rescued animals before and am always adament in where they go. Could I ask for a better, loving, caring home than Minz and Chase??

We are making arrangements for her to fly into Denver International Airport in December and I will meet and pick her up. We will stay with my parents (they don't know this yet! LOL) and then Minz will embark on her trip home with Timothy in tow in-cabin. We are trying to stay away from cargo flights if at all possible.

We are going to try to talk my father into making us a full, big Persian dinner upon Minz' arrival! Oh how fun this visit will be, though it will be short. :( ... I think a Birthday cake will be in order because I just found out that Minz is a Saggitarius (Dec. 23rd) and I am too (Dec. 19th)!!! So, we most definitely will need a Birthday cake that we can share to celebrate Minz' youth and my wisdom!

Didn't you read the "Terms of Agreement" before you signed up Pheobus? You have to be a Sagittarius to sign up (we will also accept "late Scorpios" and "Early Capricorns")
... sorry 'bout that!

I'm actually an early Capricorn, but that makes me ok too! The signs switch on the 22nd, very very tricky. Chase is a virgo, that DOES explain a lot, lol. But I'm very excited about welcoming Timothy into my family, I think we'll have a lot of fun. Chase is nervous about breaking such a tiny bird, but Anna and I are sure he'll be just fine. I'm still working on the perfect home for my Iggy, but I'm sure it'll be all straightened out by December (or else I will have lost my hearing capacity as well as my sanity). I am still very sad that I have to rehome Iggy, but am very happy that I will still have an avian companion in my life, one that is much better suited to my living situation and lifestyle. and the Colorado trip should be quite exciting, hopefully no storms will decide to rear their ugly heads. Anyway, thanks for all of your kind words and support (once again ;) )

Minz, you are so close to being a Sag ... we'll just dub you a Saggicorn and you can still share in the birthday cake!!! :D ...Dan is a New Year's baby and a Capricorn too -- poor old guy has to put up with this maniacal, headstrong, outspoken Sag! LOL

Minz ... tell everybody about the new digs you are thinking about getting for lil Timothy :D

... iffen we have time (which I doubt we will, but we will try our hardest), I'll take you down to Creative Play Centers and we can pick up a bunch of P'let toys and stuffs.

He's already torn and ripped the tar out of his new Pinata, so I'll be getting a new one to send home to you. :D

For those that don't know, Timothy throws little cussing fits (birdy cussing, not human!) and gets himself really bent out of shape and pitches a fit and beats the hell out of his Pinata. These spells last for a few short minutes at the longest ... and they are just a hoot and a holler to watch. My Sailor used to do the same exact thing -- and, between Sailor and Timothy, I've not figured out what triggers these little fits of tantrum, but they are just hilarious to witness!

Well, little Timothy is going to be coming home to a Parrotlet Palace, like the royalty he is! :D Here's the link if anyone wants to check it out, Anna found it awhile back, and it does look pretty nice!
http://www.parrotsparrotsparrots.com/p-cages-pp.htm

We decided the white would be best to go with. They said that shipping normally takes about a week, so I'll order it a month in advance just in case it takes longer. Now, I'm thinking about play gym type things, and wondering what anyone recommends for tiny birds (Anna, I hadn't asked you about this yet either, but any advice is welcome)? Obviously it won't be very big (although Chase thought we were planning on using Iggy's... )...

WOW! I have that same cage(will not th exact same but the same dimension but by a different company it's slightly different, but it looks the same pretty much!) for my two cockatiels. This is the one i have : http://birdcages4less.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?page=B/PROD/Specials/PA5719
see very similar, except mine has metal pullout tray and comes with ladders and platforms. :)

Timothy sure will be livin' in a palace! It would be huge for parrotlet(which is good). Your going to have to buy LOTS of toys and ladders and all sorts to fill it up. Good luck!

Those cages DO look awfully similar! Yea, I know it's going to be huge, but Iggy's in a macaw cage...I believe very strongly in spoiling fids rotten, as all of you do as well, lol. :D Anna's going to give me perches and toys that he has now, so they will be familiar to him, but I like going out and buying toys and accessories too, so he'll never have a deficit of things to play with...Iggy has more toys than he or I know what to do with, hahaha (and boy the bigger birds' toys are a LOT more expensive... ).

OHHH boy. Please, please Minz, ask--no BEG--Chase's forgiveness on my behalf. I am not laughing *at* him ... I'm just laughing with the circumstance. I am laughing so hard I'm nearly to pee my pants.

No, I don't think Iggy's playstand will work for Timothy. Just a tad too big! LMAO. Tell Chase to make a fist with his hand, then loosen it by about 1 to 1 1/2 inches ... that little space in the cup of his fist is what Timothy will fit into comfortably! LOL ... We, together, can find a lil playstand that Timothy won't get lost on!

hee hee ... No, no Chase, it really is going to be just fine; don't you worry yourself at all! :60: :60: :60:

I had some miniature popsicle sticks that are great foot toys for P'lets, but the cats stole them out of the cupboard and then the dogs stole them from the cats ... and then Fly ATE them  ... so, between the two of us, let's see iffen we might find some more little popsicle sticks to have them to send home with you and Timothy! (I have beads and various sundry type foot toys I'll sterilize to send home with you as well). :D

(((((Chase))))) that's just so endearing! He's like a worried papa. ;)

Hehehe, yes Chase is a bit of a worry wart, but it's very funny most of the time. He'll probably be very upset that I posted that here, but...well...it was way too funny not to. :D I was looking at little hand made natural material woven baskets, that all sorts of toys and things can go on, but I think a basket would get boring...I dunno, I also have to get used to the tiny bird accessories, lol. Most of Iggy's toys are probably bigger than little Timothy himself :p But yes, we'll cooperatively find Timothy a miniature play gym. You will know what he would be most comfortable with, so I'll go by your judgement! Hehe, I'll let Chase read this when he gets home and tell him not to pout... :18::18::18:

Oh, yes, very nice cage. Does this have an access door on BOTH top and bottom or just bottom (I can't tell by the pic). (Looks like just bottom).

Minz, the bar spacing on this one is fine for Timothy. I am just wondering about hand access...I'd personally prefer top and bottom if available.
