Parrotlet Question

Hi,
I'm searching for Parrotlets, I think they'd be a good pet for me. Two questions, does anyone know a reputable breeder near NYC (1.5 hour drive), most advertisements are shady and I won't to ensure I get a well treated and quality pet. Secondly, is it cruel to only buy 1 parrotlet? Are they a bird that really needs a companion for when I'm at work and can't interact with it?

Go to ebay.petsclassified. There you will find many parrotlet breeders in the NY area.

In regards to getting just one parrotlet, as long as you spend time with the bird everyday he/she will be fine. If you wish to have a strong bond with your parrotlet getting more than one may not be a good idea tough that doesn't mean you can't bond with your parrotlet. Best of luck.

I agree. check out birdbreeders.com

He will be fine. think of it as any other companion animal, even a human. If you give it a few hours of interaction a day he will be happy. The rest of the time make sure he has toys to occupy himself.

Ended up getting a Green Cheek conure instead. He buried himself in my girlfriends hair at the store...he knew what he was doing.
