2x Parrotlets
Hi all,

I'm new to this page and wondered if anyone could offer me some advice please? :)

I have 2 Parrotlets (approx 9 months old) they currently live indoors however we'd like to move them to an outdoor aviary. We've ordered a lovely big new home for them and now i'm trying to plan what i'll need to furnish it. The one thing i'm confused about is the night box....I don't want to breed parrotlets as I don't have the experience or time to dedicate.

So my question is, should I provide a night box? Or is this only for breeding? I really wasn't sure as I thought that surely they need somewhere to go at night especially when it's cold.

Thanks in advance :):greenyellow:

Depends on where you live.... In Alaska, they need to be indoors in the winter.
If you live in the Bahamas they can stay outdoors all year. and at nite too.
Oh but you didn't fill out your profile completely....

Your weather isnt much better than ours in Ireland and is way too cold for most of the year to have two little Parrotlets out in the elememts without shelter and warmth plus even when the weather is sunny and warm the parrotlets will need a shaded ares from the sun. Why cant you keep them in the house and use the aviary as a play area when the weather is nice ?
