Well, Noah's ticked off with me. Last week, I cut my hair. I knew better, but I clipped it too short anyways.

Noah likes to nest on me in the evening, snuggling on my left shoulder, covered with my hair. Ever since cutting my hair, he's been restless and has been having little tantrums. A couple of days ago, Noah went into a rage and attacked Rumi (he has a crush on her) twice, and grabbed Pollo by the wing. He's also been unusually saucy with me, and has started being territorial with me (by which I mean he's been threatening to beat me up when I touch his stuff, which is really unusual for him).

Tonight, when I took him upstairs from the aviary to snuggle, he yelled for 30 minutes, and kept flying all over the place, landing on everyone's head. My cousin was here, and as she stood up to leave, he launched himself at her and headed straight for her left shoulder, diving into her hair. I felt really bad, because he was so happy to finally be snuggled up in some long hair, but I had to untangle him from her hair because she was leaving (and she couldn't handle his sharp nails).

So, until my hair grows back, I have to bend my neck awkwardly so he can be covered by my hair, and then quickly put a towel on my head so I can straighten my neck again.

oh goodness! Do you know anyone who is crafty? You might try a makeshift "wig" with stripped fabric or maybe some type of bird safe string? ( Havent gotten to the "what crafts are safe for birds" research yet, been sticking with safe bird toys)

No idea if it would work, but I've read crazier things here :D I was hoping to chop my hair off for summer, but now I'm rethinking! He LOVES to snuggle up in my hair. He's the only one who likes it super frizzy :p

 I won't make that mistake. It would be way too painful. My hair is the only thing protecting me from Tillie when she decides to throw a tantrum. :p

Yeah, I definitely regret cutting my hair. Some people might say I'm spoiling him by letting him snuggle in my hair, but you could say the same thing about parents who spend an hour driving aimlessly with their infant in the back seat, waiting for him/her to fall asleep. Snuggling in my hair helps strengthen our bond, and it comforts him. As I've written before, being close to loved ones, as well as physical contact, releases endorphins, creating feelings of calm, wellbeing, and love. Noah doesn't really have anyone to really bond with (he has this strange relationship with Ju where he asks Ju to preen him, but Ju never does, and in which Ju sings to him and gives him love pecks; and he also has a huge crush on Rumi where he tries to kiss her and stuff, but she just smacks him in the head in return :p), so he needs to get his fix of endorphins from me.

Anyways, I'm glad I was able to warn others before it was too late :p. I definitely need to figure out a better snuggle setup while my hair regrows.

Fly free Plum, my gorgeous boy.
Have you tried a scarf loosely wrapped around your head and neck? You have chopped his snuggle blanket off, shame on you! LOL.
