Yes, only ONE vote per member.

Yup, this will be a tough one, I agree. :)

In the future when it's time to vote, would it be possible to put all the pictures submitted closer together rather than going through 7 pages to find them? I find it difficult to remember who posted what pics because of all the comments interspersed within the thread.

Ahem...NO. Sorry, but that would be one major PITA. A mod would then have to save each and every photo that was submitted, upload them onto Photobucket or any other webhosting photo site, and then paste them all into different posts (since the photo limit is 9 per post, I believe).

Folks have 3 days to vote, I think that's more than enough time to figure out which is their favorite, regardless of the "conversation" going on in between photos. :)

And we don't want to take the conversation out either. For those members who submitted their photo, it's always nice when someone comments. There is no reason to take that away, or tell members not to comment, but to only post a photo.

This is supposed to be FUN, and I'm sorry if you are having trouble going through the pages.

ok, just figured I would ask. You have shown me how much of a whiz on the computer you are in the past and thought it would be a simple thing. Thanks for explaining the process. No, I am the one who owes you an apology.

Maybe the submissions thread could be for picture submissions only with no comments allowed on the submitted pics. If people absolutely need to have their pics commented on, we could have a second thread that people could post their pic to and people could comment there, but the pic only thread would be the official submissions thread.

Nope, like I explained to Merlee, the stipulation NO COMMENTS, PICTURES ONLY will NOT be implemented. We don't like "muzzling" our members. I highly doubt members participate and submit photos only so that other members can comment on them.

One thread will be for photos and another will be for the poll. Both can be commented on. 2 threads per month for the photo contest are enough, thank you very much. :)

Cindy, that's a lovely picture. :) I'm sorry, but the submission period for THIS month's POTM is over. It ended at midnight, last night.

We will start another contest in January though...so please stay tuned for that one. ;)

Ah, bummer. :( After being inactive on the forum for a while I just noticed this poll and thought I'd seen the deadline to be Dec 31st... must have misread it somewhere. I'll watch for the next poll. I've looked thru a lot of the photos submitted and gotten such a kick out of them. :p

I don't know whether to choose a "naughty" or a "nice". I feel like I shouldn't be "rewarding" bad behaviour by voting for a naughty. The birds aren't going to know or have any behaviour reinforced, it's just me ..... :D

EDIT: in relation to reducing the length of the submissions thread, I was going to suggest that comments be put in spoiler tags, but we don't have spoiler tags....

Guys, it only took me 4 minutes to look through the whole thread and check which picture i wanted to vote for, even though it was a super hard decision

But, i think we can find 4 minutes over 3 days to have a look :p

As Wendy said, we would have to save the pictures, then upload them all again in anotherrrr thread..
Which would take alot longer than 4 minutes anyway ;)

and i like that the members can talk and say they like pictures throughout the poll, because there can only be one winner chosen, but with the thread, everyone comments saying they love the others pictures, makes everyone feel alot better! :)

Cindy i just love that picture! Is Sweet Pea asleep on the pillow? I just wanna lie down next to her hahaha

Hi Tab, Thanks! ... No she wasn't asleep, just posing, haha. But it only took two takes to get the shot - she's a good birdie! :)
