That there is a mighty hefty charge, bruh. But I guess every big family has its closet conspiracy theorists, huh?

But I could see why you might think that, though. After all, George Parr's legacy pales in comparison to who might win the POTM contest! How could we not seek to wrest control? Mwahahaha! (Is that how it plays out in your minds' eye?)

YOU WOULDN'T BE SAYING THAT IF THAT "OTHER BIRD" WASN'T WEARING A COWBOY HAT... LET ME GUESS, YOU'RE FROM TEXAS, RIGHT?! Home of the grassy knoll?!

LBJ is dead! [But I hear he voted for Bush in the election against whatshisnme - you know that guy who invented the internet. Turns out dead people retire to Florida too!] :D

Uh-Ohhh... Pandora's box has now been opened!

Puh-leeeeze! Don't start, this was just a bad joke... (not politics!)

Q. How can you tell if a politician is lying?
A. His lips move!

Just so you don't have to google the reference - LBJ won the election because enough dead people voted in the counties Parr controlled to give him the runoff...

Obviously this was a joke...

If memory serves, LBJ was down by some 2000 votes, but miraculously ended up winning by some 85 votes.....was surprised that someone picked up on my tongue in cheek funny.....yes, my post was a joke, with no intended political implications ! ! !

It just struck me as funny that, at the time I read the thread, the only 4 posts were from "super moderators," a designation I have never really understood...but have never asked either...and...my reference to Texas politics was prompted by having been in a discussion about it a couple of months ago.....

Hope nobody took offense.....

NO, I GOT IT RIGHT OFF... and yeah, the names on the voter registrar ended up matching the names on a local tombstones. Some of the County's "more permanent" residents voted for Johnson at the 11th hour.

Well, if one is a student of political history, just plain history or Texican history, it wasn't too long ago, then there's the possibility that if you were somewhere in Southeast Asia in the mid to late 60s when LBJ was telling the world U.S. personnel were not where the media & others were accusing us of being, you might have a vested interest in some of that history, but it could be that Oregon's too far away from South Texas to have heard of the skulduggery that's gone on that part of the world.....they got a whole lot of dirty laundry down there.....

Yeah HP, you know what they say about pennies !

Was out of the country for a couple of months, had some health issues to contend with, now I'm divesting myself of a couple of businesses that kept me busy for awhile, with a view towards retirement, so figured I'd pop in & see how other retired people handled it.....

Lets just say I am not politically active;) I always assumed people voted from beyond the grave in every election, given the people who manage to get into office in this country:20: In fact, I think the system we have is so corrupted, I refuse to participate because not enough people see its broken and/or are interested in changing it. But this is not the right forum to get into a heated political discussion:52: This forum has "clean" and fair elections and I don't think there are any deceased voters in the POTM contest:D
