JerseyWendy I'm with you on the hummingbirds...I miss them the day after I see my last one...it's agonizing to have to wait approximately 6 more months for me.

Such wonderful photos so far, I love them!

Oh my.... how to choose?! I work "professionaly" with wild seabirds, namely Puffins, Terns, Gulls, Petrels... and I've worked in Hawaii with some pretty amazing endangered and endemic species, but those photos are when the birds are at the rehab center so I can't include those!

So I guess here's my entry. This is a Common Tern parent feeding her young chick in the wild. At first they have to be very patient, especially when feeding something this size!

And just for fun, here's a Puffin with a full load of fish heading back to his burrow to feed his chick. Matinicus Rock Lighthouse is in the background where I lived for part of a summer.

LOTS more where those came from!

Here is my entry. I took this picture while at the National Zoo in Maryland this past February.

You would think living in Vermont I would have a ton of wild bird photos. But I'm just starting to get into wild birds and hope to do some birding up here in Vermont and get some nice shots of our local wild bird population.

But I do love this picture of this Cardinal. They are so beautiful and my MIL's favorite bird. :)

I think that is the toughest part of this months photo contest! I have a bunch of great wild birds shots, it's just finding a favorite! :09:

I think some of them that are posted already could be our winners, but the more participants, the more fun. :)
Here is 'my' baby robin. I have so many of them who nest in my yard and had the experience last year of feeding/caring for one until I found mama. I am particularly in love/invested in them now. I watched this baby's nest from when mom was first on the eggs, to hatching, to being out in the yard on my hammock. Always happy to see them thriving.
