Where are all the Dusky's?

I have been trying to find a Dusky Pionus for 3 YEARS. The only breeder I can find makes me nervous because she seems kind of like a dishonest person. Anyone have a Dusky for sale?

Re: Where are all the Dusky's?

Nebraska. It used to be believed that the Coral bill pionus was the most rare, but the fact is that the Dusky is considered the most rare of the pionus. 3 years ago a lady gave me her cage aggressive Dusky. I tamed him and really came to love him, so I started looking for another (to breed) and NEVER found one. They are such a WONDERFUL bird, the smallest and quietest of the pionus. I don't want to see them essentially dissapear from the captive trade in the US (not to mention he looks so lonely ), so I've been trying to find a female.

Re: Where are all the Dusky's?

I found this breeder in South Dakota, and if it's too far to drive, she does do shipping. Unless this is the breeder you were referring to not trusting. Cockatiels for Sale at Feather Focus

Re: Where are all the Dusky's?

I'm in the market for a pair of two of dusky pionus or dusky headed conures with a major preference on getting the pionus. If you find any adults take or otherwise for sale let me know! I'd be interested in chicks too but not as much as adults. Thank you!
