My lovely little Black Cap Conure, Lucy (in the sky with diamonds) <3
So.. I locked myself out of my apartment for the first time last night. My landlord is relatively useless and wouldn't answer his phone or return my calls.... finally, at 930 last night, a good friend of mine and classmate lent me his ladder and I scurried up the ladder to my bedroom window. Bleu's cage is right next to said window... I popped off the screen and attempted to crawl in over my mini vanity covered in bird toys and supplies and scraped my leg pretty good on Bleu's seed guard.

ANYWAYS. As I put my leg through the window all chaos breaks loose... haha Bleu flies of his perch like a rocket pacing back and fourth on the floor screaming WHO ARE YOUUUU?! over and over, Lucy is going ballistic and at this point my friends and I are absolutely hysterical, keep in mind I'm 2 stories up half way in a window... It was so crazy I couldn't help but laugh... Bleu ran to the living room and back screaming "GO AWAY! NO! WHO ARE YOU!?" the entire time until I turned on the lights and he saw it was me... he then proceeded to run to me, sit on my shoe, and say "UP!" haha Lucy quieted down quickly once I opened her cage door and showed her I was ok...

I think the next trick will be teaching the fids to fetch my keys! At least I know if anyone tries to break in... I'll know about it!
My name is Andrea and I'm "you know... that girl... with the parrots..."

I love my fids haha

Anyone who maintains that parrots just mimic needs to frequent these boards. That is incredible!

That is so cute!!! They definitely know what they're saying.
My Alex waits until I'm on the phone and then says "I'm hungryyyyy. I want Foooood" in the most pathetic little voice.
I guess everybody thinks I starve them now.

I agree! I never ever expected this kind of relation with a bird! I'd heard stories from my dad about his macaws and his crow... but I never believed him really... I'm closer with my fids than I am with my parents' dog... I can actually carry on conversation with them :) haha they might not always speak.. but i can tell from the way they act that they know what I'm saying. They really are incredible creatures and each one is different :) I love my fids haha
