Hi everyone! :D I was just wondering, what is a decent cage size for a dusky pionus? (Of course, the bigger the better, but my budget won't take much more. Id really like it to be under $250-$300, but I'm flexible.) I'd appreciate your input, and also links to suggested cages would be lovely, too!

The one I just bought for my Grey was on ebay. It was quite a nice cage for the price, $190 shipped. Someone else here bought it for her new Pionus as well. I thought it was a little small for a Grey, but her previous owners liked that one the best. And then it turned out my bird is blind and the vet said that cage was perfect for a blind bird. She's quite a busy little bee and yet she does quite well in it. It would be a very good size for a Pionus. I can't post a link because ebay links don't seem to work here. But, if you do a search for African Grey Cockatoo Macaw cage on ebay it should show up. It was just under $190 including shipping and has a playtop on it. It also has 6 stainless steel bowls all together, and a second door for a next box. I really like the little shelf at the bottom for storing supplies and her cage cover.

This is the same one I just got for my WC Pionus that Audrey (roxynoodle) told the forum about. I was able to fit quite a few toys in there and am happy with it. I think the removeable playtop is gonna be great until I can get a play tree.

Yes, I have quite a few toys in it as well, and several perches. I may add her swing as well. I thought she might not like a swing being blind, but she's been hanging upside down from the top of the cage by one toe and twirling herself around, so I think she would! Now she does like to go up there and lift the playtop and let it bang back down, lol! She does that a few times every evening. But, I take the playtop off and set it on a table and she likes to sit on it while I'm on the computer or eating lunch. All the bowls are very nice to have. Plenty of places to put fresh foods without them contaminating the pellets.

I was able to fit a Pionus size swing, a couple ladders and several perches along with the toys, I think it will work just fine :)

I'm a big fan of flight style cages. I like all the space you get for the money as well as the flat top that's great for adding a playtop : )

Here's a cage very simular to what I have for my WC Pionus. This one is only $149!
