I officially just put down my deposit on a Maximillian pionus baby! :D I am so excited and can't wait to welcome home a new family member! Here is a picture that the breeder took of the clutch (plus one Blue headed pi in the corner).

Congrats! Pionus are awesome. If I hadn't fallen for conures, a pionus would have been my first choice. :)

When are you bringing him/her home?

Not yet. I think I'll probably wait till they're a little bit bigger to pick one out.

Congrats! Pionus are awesome. If I hadn't fallen for conures, a pionus would have been my first choice. :)

I can tell you from experience that conures are awesome too! I will be bringing my baby home sometime around the beginning of August.

I got an updated picture from the breeder today. The babies are looking great! I am always amazed at how quickly baby birds seem to grow up!

Are you getting him from someplace local? We were looking into Blue Heads and Maxis too. If you strongly reccommend the breeder and they ship...and we aren't able to get our rehome birdie...I may be hitting you up for the name! But we are in Oregon so they would have to be willing to ship. We have not found any maxi babies around here.

The breeder is actually located in North Carolina but they do ship! They breed maxis as well as blue heads. So far, I have been pretty impressed with the breeder overall. Feel free to PM me if you'd like the name of the breeder!

Here's a couple new pictures from today. He/she has come a long way since that original baby picture! I am getting so excited to bring him/her home!

I will be finding out the DNA test results within a week or so, and I'm probably going to need some name suggestions once I find out the gender!
