We bought Pepper, my white-capped, a new orbitor swing and it only took two months, but he's FINALLY playing with it! He's such a catious bird. Right now we have a new toy for him to play with (he likes to chew on wood or leather) and it's attached the outside bottom of his cage so he can get used to it. Hopefully soon I'll be able to put it in for him. Is anyone else's pionus a one person bird or a catious bird?
Is it unusal for them to get attached to one person? Pepper was my baby and he loved to preen me until a hurricane. We boarded the animals, went on vacation and had no idea there was a hurricane and couldn't get back. He was with the vet for 3 months and now he despises me. I keep talking to him and giving him his food and water. And if he's on the floor he'll start walking up to me if I don't make any sudden movements. So I'm hoping we'll get reaccquainted once again. Just trying to be patient. (Mind you this was in 2005!) Now he's a holy terror sometimes.
