Pionus Throwing Food in Fits

Nanday Conure & Maximilian Pionus
I inherited a Maximilian Pionus recently. He has been getting upset when he cannot come out of his cage, and he ALWAYS wants out. His reaction is to pick up a pellet, try to get our attention, and throw it on the floor!! We ignore him, but he will do it over and over again. The bottom of his cage is full of kibbles. How can I stop this behavior?

Many parrots chuck their food, there isn't all that much you can do about it, unfortunately.

Both my macs have mastered the art of swiping their enormous beaks through their freshly filled dry food dishes, resulting in the food being tossed against the wall, on the floor, and some falls to the bottom of the cages.

You could try filling the dry food cup with less food. OR you could try a hooded up, and see it that will do the trick.
