A Rescue Organization has asked me to consider Adopting a White-capped Pionus. I don't know a lot of information really about this type of Parrot, so
am hoping there are owners here on the forum of WCP that could give me some info on their experiences owning these parrots. What are their personalities like? Are they Quiet or are they Screamers? How much attention do they require? What size Cage do they require?
Any help the members can offer me is certainly appreciated.
Thanks.

Welcome! Lots of people to help you out. Meanwhile, you can take any issue or topic which interests you, use the Search Tab and then read about it.
I would just start off by saying that parrots (even in the same species) can be so so so different. Can you meet and get to know the bird directly???????????
The people here are an amazing source of information, advice, and support. I'm glad you found us!

Yes - One of the requirements of the Rescue Organization is that you have (3) Visits with the bird before you adopt it, to acquaint yourself with the bird and see how the bird responds to you.

I have a female and she is pretty laid back, very quiet, and loves to be loved. Not a talker. She's a jailbreaker, and plays rough with toys. She has a super innocent demeanor, but it's all just a trick for her get to away with stuff! She's as close to perfect as any pet could be though. She's independent enough that I don't have to worry, but loves attention too. She's observant and is incredibly smart and empathic.

I think the bigger the cage the better with them, if you can't have them out a lot. I think some have a tendency to sit around and daydream all day if they don't have energy outlets. Jimmy is constantly hanging upside down, or fighting toys, or flying and I think she would be really sad if she didn't have the space to do this stuff.
